In the Audiobooks Mission, you will be a founding member of a new full-stack squad, spanning a number of products and areas of expertise to explore opportunities in the audiobooks space. You will embody the engineering philosophy of “anything is possible” and actively participate in all phases of development. You will focus on high quality, high-velocity feature delivery, balancing business impact and minimizing technical debt.

Shape core components of the next generation of the Helm.ai autonomous stack. No prior experience in autonomous vehicles is required—we prioritize deep expertise in backend systems and a proven track record in high-impact software engineering. Design, implement, and test safe, efficient, and reliable vehicle software/hardware systems, collaborate with sensor and compute vendors, partner with Helm.ai’s AI teams, and work with customers to advance highway and urban autonomous driving capabilities.

In this role, you will design, develop, and implement scalable and secure software solutions to meet the evolving needs of Forward’s business. Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical specifications. Be the technical leader; driving the enhancement of quality, scalability, reliability, and speed-to-market of Forward’s third-party integration infrastructure.

Lead an engineering team focused on integrating AI into existing products and creating new AI-powered offerings. Collaborate with product managers, ML and QA engineers, stakeholders, and senior developers to refine product roadmaps. Refine team processes and culture to ensure smooth delivery and agility. Serve as a playing coach, designing and working on technical tasks.

This role involves architecture, interface design, writing code, responsibility for testing, and publishing documentation. You will be primarily responsible for designing and implementing systems that enable real-time communication between drones, docking stations, our aerial traffic awareness and ground control station (GCS) platforms, and other external systems to enable autonomous operations. This position is fully remote (USA only).
